A small private yard just outside the village of Dummer; located near to junction 7 of the M3 in Hampshire. The livery yard has been operating over 10 years. The Horse Laundry (wash, proof & repair of horse rugs) – available to the general public, has been operating from the same site for the last 7 years.
The yard has 7 stables on a secure enclosed yard within part of a farm complex. There is a locked tack room, rug room, and barn. In addition there are approximately 20 acres of grazing divided into 4 paddocks. Most of the fencing is post & rail, mains electric rope and hedging. The paddocks are maintained with topping, harrowing and rolling done as required; horse owners are expected to assist with dung clearance from the paddocks in summer.
There are miles and miles of off road riding on Bridleways, tracks and around fields. The network extends to Alresford, Alton and the Itchen Valley. There is a map in the admin area showing the bridleways and permissive riding tracks.
The horses at the yard vary from a 11.2hh New Forest pony, to various sizes of happy hackers and up to a 16.3hh ex eventer horse. A number of our liveries attend local shows and fun rides and younger ones are members of The Pony Club
There are toilet and kitchen facilities and a social/seating area. We aim to have a number of social events during the year and non-horsey partners are encouraged to attend! Jumps and dressage markers are available to use on the grass paddocks in the summer months.
We expect our horse owners to be caring and to work together in looking after the horses. We are a friendly but professional yard and cater for the ‘happy hacker’, occasional rider and those who have aspirations to compete. Advice is available to those who want it, although there will be no interference provided the horses are well cared for.
