Our private family home is near the Devon/ Cornwall border and is surrounded by its own 45 acres of land, providing a perfectly tranquil relaxed residence for the REHABILITATING, RESTING OR RETIRED Equine.
We are very private, yet easily accessible. We have a purpose-built 6 box yard for Equine Rehabilitation and Post Operative Care. We offer 24 hour, specialist care, catering to your horses individual needs.
We only ever have a max of 15 horses here at Burscott Farm this allowing Jess to provide home from home care, ensuring every horse we have to stay has lots of love and the highest standard of attention.
We provide all year round turnout in groups of no more than 6 horses. Lovely big field shelters filled with our own fabulous haylage. Rug changes are provided to ensure your horse is comfortable and happy whatever the weather. We also offer owners the option of their horses coming into our barn for the winter with big straw beds and ad-lib Haylage.
We are able fo offer large stables with the box rested horse in mind. The stables provide ample natural light and fresh air so tour residents never feel isolated or claustrophobic. All fully rubber matted, with fresh water drinkers and hay bars. All equipped with individual CCTV.
We will always assist the vet and farrier during routine treatments.
Owners always welcomed to visit or call for a chat at any time – and lots of photos will always be sent. We have CCTV in all our stables for owners to be able to login and see their horses.
Our facilities include:
We also provide AI assisted livery for mares – We provide grass or box livery and will assist your vet or ours right up until your mare is scanned in foal. Mares are welcome to stay with us once in foal and we can provide a foal package for owners.
The rehabilitation programme for all of our residents will be overseen by our expert Sally Cinnamond; Chartered Physiotherapist, MCSP, HCPC, Veterinary Physiotherapist, ACPAT Cat A, who as an integral part of our team will be able to provide a full range of therapeutic options including:
Jess and Sally work closely to meet the requirements of you and your horse. Sally will draw up a patient-centered, evidence-based treatment plan, individually tailored to the needs of our patients allowing them to return to work as quickly as possible. If required we can also carry out ESWT under veterinary supervision should this be more convenient for your practice.
