I've been sharing a horse at the yard for about a year now. Its a really friendly place with a lovely bunch of people. I had been away from riding for over 20 years however Terri and everyone at the yard have been a great source of knowledge and expertise and have helped me so much! I go hacking, have flat and show jumping lessons, have been to the gallops, am off cross country schooling and am having so much fun. A great inclusive livery yard.

Review by , 11 months ago

Terri Hill’s livery yard has been instrumental in getting me back in touch with my passion for horses and riding, which it seems has always been there dormant and not disappeared as feared! I saw a part share advertised on Terri’s Facebook several months ago only a few weeks after giving birth to my second child. I booked a visit and thought he was an absolute gem and his owner lovely (I have not been disappointed on either front!). Although the timing felt a bit bonkers it has been like coming home returning to the horsey world. The yard itself has facilities I could only dream about compared to keeping my horse on a DIY yard decades ago in Australia. Terri and her team couldn’t be more supportive in terms of updating my knowledge and the tuition has been brilliant. I have already been out showjump schooling with Terri and a group of wonderfully supportive livery owners and I am looking forward to many outings to come. I’m really enjoying becoming part of the Terri Hill livery family and thoroughly recommend the yard to anyone.

Review by , 11 months ago

Our experience at Terri Hill Livery may be different to most, me being the non-horsey Mum of a 14 year old daughter who was so longing to get closer to horses and learn more about them and learn to ride better. Where should we start? I dropped a message to a very responsive Terri who invited us around to the yard for a chat. Nothing ventured nothing gained, off we went and found a very welcoming Terri and her team. Explaining to Terri that my daughter was having some riding school lessons that weren’t progressing very much, and also her craving to learn how to care for a horse and ride better, Terri was so supportive in talking through our needs, allowing me to ask lots of questions and making me feel very comfortable, even with my lack of knowledge. To cut a long story short, 3 months in and we are part sharing a lovely horse. Terri went through everything with us, grooming, tacking up, everything we needed to get going. She has been regularly teaching my daughter who is already very comfortable in canter and has even started jumping. Her teaching skills in my opinion are exceptional, just the right amount of direction, encouragement and praise. My daughter is heading for her first Team Quest assessment at the end of this month ! She couldn’t be happier. For a child who is not the most confident, especially in new social scenarios, she settled into the yard straight away. I honestly cannot believe how nice everyone at the yard is, so helpful with all our little questions, so non-judgemental and genuinely all one team, whatever anyone’s age or background. They go out regularly together on hacks, competitions and days out which allows everyone to be included. I could sit and wonder how such an inclusive atmosphere has occurred but to me it comes from the top. Watching Terri at the yard with so many horses, sometimes with complex situations, she seems to be an oracle for knowledge of horses which means she is supporting owners all the time and genuinely wants the best for the horses and the owners at all times. She is central to everything and has her hard working team around her and everything runs so well. I think the horses and owners are very lucky to have a place there and we are so grateful for this pathway into the world of horses, my daughter is loving it, as I am too !

Hill Livery is the most amazing yard and community with phenomenal expertise and support from Terri and her wonderful team. The incredible full livery service is beyond five star with so much care and attention to the horses welfare. They are treated so beautifully and individually with an incredible depth of experience. The opportunities for the riders are fantastic, from riding after work in winter in the floodlit school to lovely local hacks, to lessons onsite with Terri as well as amazing outings such as XC and SJ schooling with instruction from Terri. Returning to riding after a long break and for my daughter moving on from learning to ride at a riding school, I feel like we hit the jackpot when we joined the yard. There is such a lovely generosity of spirit amongst everyone, staff and yard members alike, from sharing knowledge and expertise to kit and transport. The addition of everyone’s dogs and the other animals on the yard is an extra bonus. I couldn’t recommend it highly enough.

I joined Hill Livery as a part sharer 6 months ago and I couldn’t have asked for anything more to help me find my love of horses, riding and yard life again. I was very apprehensive at first after a two year break, especially going in as a sharer, but everyone at the yard has been super supportive, friendly and welcoming into the Hill Livery family. I had no expectation of being able to have regular lessons, getting out schooling and even competing again but that’s exactly what I have been able to do. The teaching from Terri is brilliant and the care that the horses get from all the staff every day is above and beyond. Nothing is too much trouble and there is always someone around to help answer your questions or just to say hello. Seeing all the extra animals at the yard is an added bonus to brighten up your day. Terri has created something special at Hill Livery and it shows in all the happy horses and humans.

Review by , 12 months ago

I can sum up Hill Livery as follows:- Simply the BEST !! I can honestly say after coming back into horses after a 20+ year break, I’ve made my fair share of blunders such as buying a horse that was too big, too young, totally green & with not the best conformation, just because he was the right colour! But I have totally redeemed myself by making the decision to move him to Hill Livery. It has been the absolute making of us both. I joined Hill Livery in August 2020 and have to say it’s been an amazing and transformational 2.5 years and I have loved every moment of it. When I arrived in 2020 I’d had my horse for 4 years and apart from hacking (and falling off), we really hadn’t done anything, he was still unschooled and I didn’t really have the skills or the confidence to do anything to rectify it, which meant that he hadn’t developed any of the necessary muscles to help carry himself or me on his back. He generally liked to drag himself around doing a fine impression of a Llama, head in the air and hollow back. To add to the mix, he arrived at Terri’s slightly lame, which led to him requiring surgery and then recovery time. Terri and her team were utterly amazing during his recovery, the care and animal husbandry he received was first class and so he made a speedy & full recovery. Once he was back to full strength, Terri set to work on re-educating both of us, improving my riding skills ( or lack thereof, which was an enormous task) and ensuring that my horse started working correctly to begin building muscles in the right places. We’re both still on a journey of improvement, but we have come such a long way in the 18 months that we’ve been back working. I honestly feel like I’ve got a completely different horse to the one I arrived at the yard with and that is all down to the skills and horsemanship of Terri and her team. Terri took someone who was terrified to ask her horse to canter and turned them into someone who can’t wait to go SJ or XC schooling. I’ve even been persuaded to venture to the dark side and have a go at dressage! Terri is a fantastic instructor and she adapts her style to the needs of each horse/rider and really gets results. In terms of livery care, your horses get the best. All year turnout in proper fields which is a total rarity around this area. The biggest straw beds I’ve ever seen, they make me want to snuggle down in them and have a snooze. Tack is cleaned for you, there’s an onsite washing machine so saddle pads etc are always clean and ready for you to use. There’s a horse shower area with heat lamps and hot shower. The team take care of everything your horse could want/need, they often know them better than we do. It means that if you go away you can totally relax safe in the knowledge that your equine best friend is being totally pampered in your absence. Being on a livery yard, isn’t just all about the horse care, it’s also down to the people on the yard (horse owners, staff etc). Hill Livery has just the best bunch of people you could ever wish to meet both as staff and livery owners. There is a real team ethos and friendship throughout the yard, everyone helps each other out and is a great support network not forgetting lots of fun and laughter. Hill Livery definitely feels more like a lovely social family than just a group of individual horse enthusiasts. I could wax on for hours about the brilliance of Hill Livery, but suffice enough to say that I believe it is the BEST place for me and my horse. We love being at the yard and wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. Just driving through the gates puts a huge smile on my face. Its rare that spaces become available at Terri’s and that’s because once you’ve experienced being there, you won’t want to leave.

A wonderful yard! I have been a part-loaner at the yard for about 8 months. I am so impressed by the utmost care the owners, Terri, and the team give to their horses. Everyone at the yard is passionate and welcoming. The facilities are great with lessons onsite, a large arena, and hacking nearby. This is really the perfect place to ride just outside Bristol!

If Carlsberg did livery yards .. simply the best Great facilities, professionally run by an excellent horsewoman, not only in terms of her riding but also her husbandry. Terri has trained her staff in the same style and with the same work ethic. Five star accomodation for the horses, whilst it provides a super friendly environment for owners along with the opportunity to fulfill your riding goals.

I absolutely love this yard and can’t picture being anywhere else! The care for horses is exceptional, the team of staff are extremely knowledgeable, supportive and helpful and the other owners are the most wonderful bunch of lovely people who I now consider indispensable friends. The yard caters for whatever level and goals horses/riders are aiming for and there are so many fun things to get involved with (E.g. team dressage, team chasing, fun rides, hacking, eventing, show jumping etc). It’s a very inclusive, friendly and supportive place to be. Terri Hill is amazing at individualising the plan for you and your horse, whilst providing the support, time expertise and energy to help you get where you want to go. She manages to find solutions to any horse related issue that troubles you! My kids also share ponies on the yard and their childhood lives have been so enriched and happy as a result with many new friendships made. We are unbelievably lucky!

Review by , 2 years ago

I was almost at the end of my riding journey due to unreliable loaners and difficult owners when on a random whim I logged into Facebook to see a part-share available at Terri's yard. I am almost two years on now and I could not be happier. Firstly Terri is an excellent yard owner with horse welfare at the forefront of everything she does. In terms of lessons, Terri knows how to push you just out of your comfort zone and leave you with a massive smile on your face. Beth, George and all the staff at the yard are superb, knowledgeable, friendly and always happy to help. The yard itself is sociable and friendly. Thanks Terri for making me not give up and Laura, for letting me part loan a super star!

I have kept my horse at Hill Livery for about 3 years now, and I have to say, this is the most well run, knowledgeable and supportive yard I have ever had the privilege to be part of. Absolutely everything is done with unparalleled commitment and dedication to both horse and owner. My horse is particularly sensitive and Terri has been with us every step of the way, helping us to get to the bottom of each issue with compassion, patience and care. The yard staff are equally as amazing and manage the horses' routines with efficiency and lots of love on top of that! Finally, every livery owner on the yard is so supportive and friendly, it is an absolute pleasure to spend all of my spare time there. We regularly compete / go schooling / go on beach rides together and all riders are genuinely thrilled for each other on the good days, and massively supportive on the not-so-good days (we all get one every now and again!). We're also a sociable bunch, with yard BBQs, garden drinks and even an annual charity ball. I am thrilled to be here and to share our adventures with everyone at Hill Livery.

I have had my horse diamond five years and the last four I have accomplished the bare minimum with her i though I was just gonna have her as a pet and wasn’t going to achieve anything others than the odd hack here and there, I’ve had many people say they where gonna help me but told me all the wrong stuff and made me feel like I didn’t deserve to own her and was told I should’ve sold her plenty of times. But since moving to Hill Livery I’ve had the best experience with her and I’ve learnt more and did more in the few lessons I’ve had with Terri than with anyone else and I’m not just being told what to do and having to figure out I’m actually told how to do it and these last few lessons my confidence and hope for the future has sky rocketed and hopefully by the end of next year me and diamond will be the perfect team and accomplished things I never thought we could!

I’ve been at this yard for almost four years. I came here with my first ex racehorse and before I knew it we were out eventing and team chasing and making my dreams come true. I now have another young thoroughbred and the team have been incredibly patient with my rather fussy boy. They are incredibly supportive and with Terri’s coaching and the teams’ diligent care we have been out competing in both dressage and eventing. It’s a fantastic friendly yard that caters so well to peoples’ requirements.

Review by , 2 years ago

We have known Terri for many years, and to be honest, I hoped we would never have horses! However, our youngest daughter decided that she wanted to ride, and so as we are already in the industry, it was difficult to say no. So, we started on our pony journey with lessons at a local riding school, and then progressed to loaning a pony. Then, we had some problems, and asked Terri for her opinion, and shipped pony and daughter to her yard for some coaching etc. Two years later, the pony is still on the yard, and our daughter is still pony mad, loves everyone at Hill Livery, and I can't even start to tell you how much she has learned from Terri and the team. So much support from everyone! We have gone from wondering if the pony was right for our daughter to competing BE90 last year and a mix of BE90 and BE100 this year. It is an incredible journey of coaching from Terri, confidence building and knowledge and experience. A truly fantastic yard! Well done to everyone at Hill Livery, but most of all Thank you!

This is an extremely special livery yard where horses and their owners are both made to feel welcome and are exceptionally well looked after. I have been overwhelmed by the phenomenal level of support, guidance and practical help Terri provides and her unbelievable level of equine knowledge! Her teaching is spot on and my confidence and partnership with my horse has come on leaps and bounds under her tuition. There is an extremely friendly and supportive atmosphere on the yard with the most lovely bunch of owners and yard staff that I now really consider friends. I could honesty gush for pages about how brilliant it is and what a positive experience it has been keeping my horse there and I feel incredibly lucky to have found this yard and the people in it!

I have kept my horse at Hill Livery for over 5 years now & we could not be happier! I had not owned a horse previously, so we required a lot of help & support, and still do! Of which Terri and her team could not be more accommodating. We are extremely lucky to enjoy fabulous facilities, gorgeous hacking and a great social side to go along with the full livery package. Given my horse is a total mud plastered hippo during the winter, our hot shower & solarium box is our favourite convenience :) Further, I have achieved more then I ever dreamt of whilst being a livery here; hunting, team chasing, BSJA & now we are embarking upon a full BE season, to mention a few things! This is definitely thanks to the fantastic knowledge, support & guidance from Terri & her team, and as such I could not recommend Hill Livery highly enough :) A truly super yard!

after having my own pony when I was younger and then many years at riding school I took the leap to a horse share with a horse based at Hill Livery. I’m so glad I did, I’d forgotten a lot about horse management, Terri is so knowledgeable and shares that knowledge generously, the facilities at the yard are great and being so close to Bristol I can get there easily after work. Everyone (owners, sharers and the rest of Terri’s team) has been very friendly and willing to answer my (sometime stupid) questions. I love coming here on a summer evening and heading up on a ride into the extensive fields surrounding the stables. As if by magic freshly washed numnahs and boots appear back in my cupboard, tack is cleaned and there is always a great supply of snacks in the tack room. To add to this Terri is also an excellent teacher who encourages me to push my limits and try new things. Finally and perhaps most importantly she will go above and beyond to ensure that all horses on the yard are happy and healthy.

There is no better place to keep your horse! The facilities are great (Year long turn out, warm, clean stables, arena, good hacking, horse shower, tack cleaning etc etc) but there is so much more to this yard than that. I think the most important thing about this yard is the support both you and your horse receive. When you come to Terri's, you aren't just paying for a service, you are joining a family. Terri looks after your horse like it is her own and is always on hand to offer advice and guidance to her owners. Her full time staff are professional, knowledgable and simply lovely and the rest of the owners quickly become friends. Not only does the yard organise trips out show jumping and cross country training (which Terri instructs us on) but there is so much more and whether it is Team Chase or individual eventing, people from the yard will go along to support and help those competing. In addition to all of this, everyone socialises out of our jodhpurs as well with meals out, going to balls, celebrating birthdays, weddings and much much more! I could go on forever but the only way you will know how great this yard is, is to come and look for yourself. If you are a social, fun, kind person who loves their horse then this yard is for you!

I moved my horse to Terri's 7 months ago having only ever had my horses on diy or at home, and can honestly say I wouldn't go anywhere else now! My horse was a handful when he arrived to say the least but it was never an issue for Terri. I had started a new job and recongnising this, Terri took time herself to do work with him and got us back in track in no time at all. Since then we have LOVED making use of the facilities included in our livery, from a huge school to massage equipment and a hot shower. The other livery owners have become great friends and everyone is so supportive both in horsey adventures and otherwise. The help and knowledge that Terri and her team offer is second to none. They are always on hand to help and are so good at helping out when owners have work commitments. I really can't imagine being anywhere else. Just brilliant. Thank you terri and team :)

Review by , 7 years ago

After being at other yards and not making the progress I needed and wanted to make, I found Hill Livery and moved yards. It was the best descision I could have made. I cannot express how happy I am at Terri's yard. My horse has only been there a short while but his transformation has been phenomenal! My horse is a big guy and had a few behavioural issues. This did not worry Terri at all. In fact her words were "I love a challenge". Terri was and remains to be on hand, helpful and supportive. Terri has helped build my confidence and skills. I have had access to some of the best professionals around thanks to Terri's professional working relationships throughout the community. The yard is well maintained and has lots of extras. The girls on the yard are warm and welcoming. There is nothing that is too much trouble. Terri is brilliant at helping you put together a plan to help get the best out of your horse. The turnout is fantastic and plentiful. Communication is excellent and as an owner you are always kept up to speed. The horses are treated with care and love by Terri and all the others. Respect is a strong ethos at the yard. There are always events and things happening. It is a really social place to be. This is a great yard and would be an excellent move for anyone who is serious about getting the best out of their horse and improving themselves.

When I first moved to Terri's yard my pony Amber managed to get herself into a bit of trouble! (as all horses and ponies do!) she ended up with a fractured leg and a string of some very horrible illnesses. Terri was just unbelievable in her knowledge base and her skill when it came to caring for Amber. I never doubted her once and she just cracked on and but 100% into getting my pony better! Terri will never go half way with your horse/pony. I trust her completely when it comes to the care of my pony Amber. The yard is kept to such a high standard and Terri's team to staff are all fantastic in the care of your horse/pony also. I learnt an incredible amount at Terri's yard and loved being a part of such a fantastic bunch of people. In the time I've owned Amber I've been to a few livery yards and non compare to Terri's. Both myself and Amber moved back to Cheshire after my work placement and I miss the yard a lot. Everyone is so friendly and helpful and always there to offer support and advice. If I'm ever in the area again I'll have no doubt over where to stable my horse.

Terri Hill Livery is a superb yard. Every horse receives expert care from Terri and her lovely team of staff. The yard is managed impeccably. The facilities are everything you could want whether you are a novice or a seasoned competitor. The location is fabulous, easily accessible form central Bristol, yet in glorious countryside. There is a tremendous community spirit, weekly stable management classes, lots of social events, cross country schooling trips, visits from the best equine professionals from saddle fitting to osteopathy and lots more. I found this yard 2 years ago when returning to riding after 25 years. I was keen to buy a Highland Pony and within a week Terri had found the perfect pony through her amazing network of contacts. My pony sustained a nasty injury last summer and now, thanks to Terri's dedicated care is the picture of health and fitness plus extremely happy.

With Terri’s help and expert knowledge I successfully passed my BHS Stage 1 in Oct 2014 and now working towards my Stage 2. I then was very lucky to be able to have a horse on full loan and stabled it at Hill Livery for 6 months and now have a part share there and the care both horse and rider receive there is fantastic. The facilities are brilliant with 2 arenas, off road hacking, washing facilities and shower room for both horse and rider....I could go on and on! Ease of access from central Bristol is, of course, important and this yard is conveniently located off the A38 on the way to Bristol Airport. The yard is kept beautifully and security is excellent and beyond two access gates. Equally important, however, is the knowledge, skill, care and attention offered by Terri who takes a keen personal interest in the riders and their horses. Terris own teaching and motivational skills have rubbed off on our daughter - a show jumper aspirant - despite the fact we are not from a horsey background. Our younger daughters imagination has been equally captured and as a novice rider she cannot wait to get serious. Care of the horses is a final accolade for Terri’s yard - we sense Johnnie is the happiest he has ever been, enjoying acres and acres of grass to roam in and given careful attention specifically when we cannot get to the yard. On a practical note, there are regular visitors from the saddle fitter and chiropractor and, if that Isn’t enough you can find the tack cleaned for you, on occasion. All of this combined with external visits (with and without horses) make for very happy horses and riders. Terrific!

Terri’s yard has excellent facilities and one of the best atmospheres I have experienced on a livery yard. I go to Terri's Monday night stable management/horse care classes and I have learnt so much, Terri is very knowledgeable and no question is a silly one. I have been made to feel welcome at days out and events by Terri and the liveries. When I am ready to have my own horse it will be here that I want them to be kept!

Review by , 8 years ago

I thought I'd never find a yard with the care and attention to both the horses and the riders (and the great atmosphere of the other horse owners) that I had for 18 years in the US, but Terri's place is just terrific. And she's been wonderful at giving me confidence with a new horse and a new place.

Me and my horse have been at the DIY yard for a year now, I would recommend this yard to anyone I know who is looking for a lovely yard with great horse owners(DIY YARD) not only that as staying at the DIY yard- we get to use the amazing facilities the livery yard has. Terri is great with advice and care whenever needed. She makes sure everything is kept on top of and you as owners will not forget- defiantly a yard I recommend to anyone which is wanting the best for their horse and have the enjoyment out of everything with them.

I have sent several horses to this yard .and they have been very well looked after turned out beautifully. The horses always come first. Its always 24 hour care 365days a year. My only fault would be far too many cakes n BBQ’s. But on the plus side every livery person knows each other and all help each other. A total 5star livery yard.

This is a superb yard - as a total novice coming back to riding after 25 years with the one mountain & moorland pony in a yard of high flyers and quality horses, I have been made welcome by all the other owners and Terri has helped every step of the way. Nothing is too much trouble for Terri or her staff or the other wonderful owners to help out with.

Its great to feel part of a livery yard with experienced and knowledgeable staff, great facilities and a friendly atmosphere. The horses are happy and the livery owners even happier! It was a shock to me to find a yard where the tack is cleaned after every use, that there is a solarium with hot shower for the horses and self service refreshments for owners.. Just a few examples of how Terri's goes the goes the extra mile on top of already great livery services. I really look forward to having lessons, learning and progressing with Terri. The yard really is a great place to be, very highly recommended.

5 I kept my horses at Terri's yard for many years

Review by , 8 years ago

I kept my horses at Terri's yard for many years and only left because I was lucky enough to purchase my own land and stables. Having said that I miss the happy environment of this lovely yard as well as the amazing facilities. I am very lucky though because even though I have left Terri is still always on hand to help with any queries or problems I have, at any time of the night or day. I recently had the worst and saddest experience of my life so far when my beautiful, beloved first horse had a terrible accident - it was Terri I ran to for help - and she was there every step of the way. My poor horse eventually had to be put to sleep but in terms of husbandry there is no one better than Terri and in conjunction with the vet I knew only she could help my mare to get through the injury. As I have said the outcome wasn't a good one but I know that she left this world in the best condition and frame of mind possible - because Terri did EVERYTHING, above and beyond what I believe anyone else would do for their own horse let alone someone elses. Terri tried everything, and even had my horse stuffing her face with cabbages at the end!!! THANK YOU Terri for everything you have ever done for me but especially for my horses over the years - whether I have been there on livery, or asking you for help - I would recommend you to anyone - for your facilities at your lovely yard, your help and guidance, but especially for your knowledge regarding horse welfare, and the genuine care and wellbeing of all the horses you look after ... and even some you just get asked about.

Terri is a fabulous teacher and is always on hand to help and advise. I am thrilled to be part of such a wonderful yard.

I have kept horses at Terris yard for over 10 years. Even over the last 8 years while living in London! Terri is so supportive and her care of the horses second to none. She takes all the worry off your hands and however far away you are you have absolutely nothing to worry about. The horses are schooled to such a high standard and looked after exactly the same way. I cannot recommend highly enough!

I have had a horse share at Terri's yard for about 6 months now. Having not looked after a horse for a while, Terri's knowledge and helpfulness have been invaluable. Always happy to answer my constant questions and Terri also provides great lessons in the yards facilities which have really helped me build my confidence. Everyone is hugely friendly, couldn't have found a better yard!

5 I kept my horse at Terri's yard for nearly two

Review by , 8 years ago

I kept my horse at Terri's yard for nearly two years and i only left because, as an Army Officer, I move every two years. Terri is quite simply the most helpful person you will ever meet. My horse Bear received the best care I could ever imagine and came on leaps and bounds whilst there. Terri was always on hand to give advice and I learnt so much from her. Bear lived the life of a king ; his bed was always deep and clean, his food looked good enough to eat and he was always given as much hay as he could manage! There are great facilities at Terri's but the thing I loved most were the small touches which she did, things which go beyond the usual livery services......things like going to the farmers market the week before Christmas to purchase mountains of carrots, swedes, and apples which would be added to the feeds everyday until past New Year. As far as Terri is concerned we get spoilt at Christmas and therefore, so should the horses! I love the BBQs she organises, the Christmas dinner she organises......I could go on and on but I'll be writing all night! The last thing I would like to say is that I am gutted to have had to move my horse from Terri's and that you would be nuts to take your horse anywhere else. If you love your horse then you must go to Terri Hill Livery......trust me, I am an Army Officer!! :-)

Terri's knowledge & experience is invaluable & we have learnt (and continue to learn) so much! The yard facilities are great - our favourites are the show jumps, use of the equissage, hot shower & washing machine!

Terri has a wealth of knowledge and expertise which she happily puts at the disposal of her livery owners. This, combined with an excellent range of facilities (including schools with a variety of jumps and off road riding) plus a very convenient location close to Bristol makes Terri Hill Livery an extremely attractive proposition to livery owners of all types. The yard is a busy, vibrant, social place - a real pleasure to visit!

Review by , 8 years ago

I have had my horse at this yard for nearly 4 years now, which speaks for itself. Terri is very knowledgeable and helpful, and is great at showing novice horse owners the ropes. The horses look well, are feed individual feeding regimes to suit them, and are bedded down on nice thick beds. Terri lives on site and so you have the peace of mind of knowing someone experienced is usually there. She also has a cool head in a crisis and has been fantastic support and nurse whenever my horse has got injured or sick. It is also a good yard to join if you work in Bristol - its not far from the city centre, and the standard livery service includes washing your gear and cleaning your tack, which is a time-saver that's invaluable if you've got a busy lifestyle! The yard also has a friendly atmosphere.

Terri Hill Livery has everything you can think of, need or have forgotten. She was hugely helpful in finding me a pony and goes the extra mile for her owners. Red and I have come on enormously at Terri Hill's thanks to her excellent tuition. I have enough confidence in her abilities that I feel able to travel for 9 weeks and know that Red will be well looked after under her supervision. The yard has a great atmosphere with lot's of people to around to hack out with, have a natter or ask for advice.

5 This is an excellent yard for any type of livery

Review by , 8 years ago

This is an excellent yard for any type of livery owner from first timer to experienced. I have run my own yard previously and have loved the experience of having my horse at Hill Livery. I don't have to worry about my horse while I'm away, and all our needs are met. The grazing is superb & all the horses all look well. My horse can be very quirky but here he relaxed and very happy in his stable and he loves being part of the herd. The environment is very natural for the horses and they thrive on it. On top of that, my tack is always clean, rugs, numnahs etc always clean and my horse is well (and correctly) fed (very important!) and kept on a deep bed with ad lib hay. The vets and farriers are excellent and everyone is friendly - the yard is great fun. I highly recommend Hill Livery. Great people, great facilities, happy horses.

An amazing yard. I was studying to be a vet and often had little time or I was away for weeks at a time, Terri went out her way to look after my Horse while I was busy and I didn't need to worry and could relax leaving them. Terri know her stuff. The yard is prefect. Off road riding and top facilities. I wish i still lived near Bristol or could take Terri with me to look after my horses. Very good social too.

A fabulous yard for all levels. I am a first time livery owner and couldn't have had a better welcome back into the Horse world. Terri has boundless help and support for the new comers to the experienced competitor. The horse's welfare is paramount. Access to off road hacking and arenas, plenty of room to park and store trailers/boxes. Wonderul bunch of owners who offer support and knowledge, and always open for a social ride out from fun rides, to beaches to training camps. and of course the odd beer and BBQ.

Review by , 8 years ago

My horse and I have been resident at Hill Livery for the past twelve years, which speaks for itself. Terri Hill is a great store of knowledge and the welfare of the horses in her care always comes first. There are regular visits from the farrier and we are fortunate enough to have the Bushy Equine practice close by at Failand. There is good hacking from the yard, and we have access to some of most beautiful meadows filled with flora and fauna. With two sand schools we are spoilt for choice, but if the weather is really too bad then there's a hot water shower and heat lamps to pamper the horses, and somewhere warm and dry to have a hot drink and a biscuit! We all have different interests and are of differing abilities, but are only too happy to congratulate others on their successes whatever. We're a social bunch and often have BBQs/get togethers/excursions. The Christmas do is always a highlight, where ever we go!

There are all the facilities your horse needs and more, there's even a hot shower with heat lamps! Terri is always on hand to offer advice, and the farrier comes every week. I only wish my horse appreciated how spoilt she is, she has the thickest straw bed every night, with rubber matting underneath, and all year turnout in lush, well drained fields -with views of Bristol and the Clifton Suspension bridge! It's all very sociable too, everyone supports each other in competitions etc and we regularly have BBQs. I can't imagine keeping my horse anywhere else!
