Based at Larkhill Garrison in Wiltshire (UK), we offer horse riding, instruction, competition, livery facilities and much more.
Whether you are learning to ride for the first time, returning to the saddle after a break from the sport, or an experienced rider new to the area, the RA Saddle Club (Larkhill) has the horses for you. With indoor and outdoor arenas, direct access to miles of hacking on Salisbury Plain and the Royal Artillery Cross Country Course on our doorstep, we offer something for everyone. We provide private and group lessons for adults and children each week. We also offer an afternoon club, birthday parties, dedicated sessions for military personnel, and ABRS training and awards.
The Royal Artillery Saddle Club also has a range of livery options to support serving personnel and civilian members. We offer a DIY option which is inclusive use of facilities, a stable and a field, and situated either on the barracks or at a satellite yard nearby. We also offer a small number of fields for grass livery over near the Strangways yard, and full livery too. We offer the option of working livery for suitable horses and ponies. The horses and ponies become part of the saddle club herd and are used for a variety of saddle club activities.
Our facilities include indoor and outdoor schools, a dedicated lunge pen, wash down area, hardstanding parking areas, plus direct access to miles of hacking on Salisbury Plain.
Events held at the Royal Artillery Saddle Club Larkhill include jumping, dressage and fun shows, clinics and special events such as side saddle days so there is something for everyone.
The RASC(L) is first and foremost a welfare facility for military personnel and their dependents. However, individuals with no military connection may join.
